If you have a US-based program, it is a violation of VISA's cross-border acquiring rules to process VISA transactions with a non-US third party processor. Yet, our clients have told us that some processors are asking them to do just that.

This is a serious matter. If you are caught with a cross-border violation you could be added to a list of merchants banned from accepting VISA or MasterCard, which would essentially mean the end of your business. Stay informed. For more on this subject, you can read what Jeff Sachs, Senior Vice President of VISA International's Global Acceptance Group, has to say about cross border acquiring at http://www.transactionworld.com/arti.../marketing.asp.

If think your sites may be in danger of violating card association rules, or, for more information about this subject please contact us. Email your account rep today or call us at 888-627-3888 or 310-664-5700.
