Yeah, just say you're a photographer. Don't lie, but don't give too much information.
Border guards can fuck you up bad if you lie. I know of a guy that can no longer enter the U.S. because he got caught lying about a drunk driving conviction.
All it takes is for them to be in a bad mood or for you to look at them funny.
