That's just retarded... you don't hear about what goes on in China because it has a totalitarian government that controls what little media there is. And even if stories get out, no one really cares, so its not popularized.
Everyone hears about what goes on in the US because we dominate world culture, opinion and policy. Our culture is the culture of the winner. We take the good, the desirable and the wanted, hotglue some glitter and ribbon on it, and sell it back to the rest of the world. And you filthy foreigners stand in line to lick it up, moaning about the horror of it all, but licking it up just the same.
