i do think occassionally as an adult even without all that time you got to develop your friendships as a kid they can become real friends - the same way you can meet the right woman/man for a romantic relationship and just know almost instantly. rare though.
i don't think its possible to have more real friends in life than you can count on one hand. maybe some very social people can extend that to a second hand.
