I think that too many people don't make that distinction, though, and think that being a friend means defending your friend's actions, even when you think they might be wrong. That's not a friend, imho... that's codependency.

I agree 100%. My point was a true friend will not sit around with your other friends and gossip about your stupid actions, like so many have a tendency to do. They will become part of the solution and not part of the problem.
I can understand how my point could be misconstrued..it was not my intent...I should have been more clear.
