I consider myself very fortunate and have some very good old friends and some good new friends. They are the ones who are there when things are going well and when they suck. We will do each other favors w/o being asked and w/o expecting anything in advance. "What do you need?" is asked long before "I need this." is even mentioned.

And they'll tell you your ass looks big in those pants and help you find a pair that make it look smaller ;)

I also agree with what Loryn said about those who are willing to not "go with the crowd" and bad mouth you when others are.

I feel very blessed with my friends - some I've had since I was in grade school and some just within the last few years.
