She should take it as a compliment. This is the same type of situation where people bitch because they still get carded at the age of 30, but then they get upset when they stop getting carded because it means they are starting to look old. You just can't make some people happy no matter which way you try, and this "girl" you are talking about sounds to be exactly that type of person.
