So what if they changed their music a bit when Hagar arrived? If they kept it exactly the same the haters would be saying sammy was ripping off Roth. And the Hagar era wasn't that much different because anyone with an ear could tell a song was from Van Halen without knowing just by the first few seconds. All the songs had a Halenesaque quality. what's wrong with bands evolving a bit? Though who don't like that are the same idots that keeping buying AC/DC albums even though all the songs sound the same since 1980. Here's a tip, tryout Nickleback. All their songs are the same too.

Actually, anyone paying any attention at all would know that VH evolved quite a lot during the DLR years. The difference from their debut album to 1984 is considerable.
But no need to get your butthole in a snizzy dude. People like what they like. I happen to be one of those among the group with a wider range of taste that actually enjoys both versions of VH.
