I had a Ford Focus as a loan vehicle recently and noticed that you couldn't open the petrol door when the passenger doors were locked. (Took me 30 seconds to figure that one out.

However it still has a little lip for you to get the finger around in order to open it, which would probably make forcing it a lot easier. The door on my car, which was forced, normally sits flush.
