Click here!? This attracts even more losers to join affiliate programs and put up more terrible sites, taking away from real web masters trying to make a living. They clog up the engines with their trash and attract even more loser want-to-be web masters. It?s an awful cycle.
I think sponsors can help the real web masters by not doing the same thing. So many affiliate sites have ?$$$Webmasters$$$? or ? ?Webmasters click here to make BIG money? right on them. When a surfer gets to the site, he looks around. Perhaps he could have been persuaded in to becoming a paying customer but then he keeps seeing dollar signs and thinks instead of joining, he?ll become a web master too. He can wank off to the free content and ?get rich on the Internet.?
I understand that the sponsor is in business to make money, and does not care if a surfer buys a membership, or signs up to promote the affiliate program, but is this not f?ing everything all up? It?s almost impossible to build a site and make it look exclusive when there are advertisement on the affiliate page telling you that you can make BIG money with their program. Even the ?free? galleries many sponsors supply to web masters (to help them promote the program) have the make big money thing sticking out like a neon sign! What is up with this?
So how should the sponsors promote their program? On boards like this for one, targeting a higher percent of real web masters, by posting in adult web master newsletters, and other such targeted methods. Someone with half a brain could also write to the web master and ask if they have an affiliate program. This would weed out so many of the people that want to ?get rich off porn? or ?get rich on the Internet.?
ARS and a very few others do have ?some? splash pages and galleries that do not advertise for web masters but even so, you have to hunt for them though all their promotional material because even they put the web master invitation on so many of their pages.
The Internet is here to stay, but I wish the loser want-to-be web masters would disappear.
