Hahaha somehow I knew this would come up. Yes it's true...when I was in gradeschool my hippie mom decided that it'd be fun to live in an Army tent on our 40 acres in the Colorado mountains for a couple years. So that's exactly what she did...summer was miserable because it was hot and the only way to keep things slightly cool was to roll up the sides of the tent so there was just the screened layer down. Winters were miserable too because it would only be warm until the wood burning stoves burned out about an hour after going to bed. I seriously have no idea how I didn't freeze to death lol. I passed my time by playing ping pong with my big brother, (no electricity meant no television). My 8th grade year I'd had enough of tent living and I moved in with my best friend...she had 7 other siblings, (they were Mormons), so one more kid didn't make much of a difference lol. This experience definitely made a difference in how important certain things are to me though so I guess I can thank my mother for that.
