I have some detailed spreadsheets dating back to 98 when I decided to really keep track of traffic patterns and such. No I will not share, do not ask. These past few months has been a nightmare for many types of sites (micros excluded). You honestly do need 2 to 3 times the traffic to make the same amount of money you did at the same time last year.
It also does not seem like it is purely tubes or the economy but both of those do factor in. Customer polling has shown a great deal of disappointment with many sites they joining (particularly solo girl sites and mega access sites). The say then end up feeling ripped off due to lack of content for what they joined and feel abandoned the second they turn their money over and many admit that makes them reluctant to join other sites.
