The last one!?
You got enough material outta me for a whole series all its own ;)
I do like the community spirit of the business, like KickAssVic was saying about it being a part of a fringe of the mainstream (of course it would be nice to not be reviled for what we do).
Like Vic, I've found a similarity to another music-scene associated fringe which was the deadhhead/hippie scene back when the Grateful Dead were touring. You could travel the country on ten bucks if you hooked up with the dead head scene, or just show up and there was immediate welcome (unless you proved to be an asshole in the end).
But there's no "weird" in adult, you don't have a uniform, a suit, a tie, a symbol of your "businessguy" status to wear. You can be at ease as yourself.
Plus, the people in the business love what they do, or most of us do. The energy of being at a show, and that everyone there is committed to what they do in a creative and technical and porn-kinky way is just the best.
The contrast was evident when the CES show was starting a few years back, and the Vegas Internext was ending - the two crowds kinda mixed at one point at a crossing of hallways and it was a telling scene.
The CES boys with their suits and haircuts and straight-backed business walks, were seemingly weirded out by the adult industry people just kinda humming in place or bouncing around, Hawaiian shirts and bermuda shorts and hangovers and deals in their pockets, whizzing all around them. To me that was a defining image.
:D
