I live in Miami. That is not true here. Spanish is spoken everwhere here. The grocery stores have signs in Spanish and English, the Spanish book sections are large, and there are a LARGE number of restaurants that cater to Spanish speaking clientele over English. The security guards in my community don't even speak English.
And .. I know and understand why!
