Well, There's a few ways of looking at it. Most figure that if you keep the guns out of people's hands, criminals will not be able to commit crimes with guns. The problem with gun laws is that only criminals willing to break the law will have guns. You will never have a federal gun ban, so as long as criminals can get their hands on guns, you have to allow law abiding citizens to have them as well. Good decision.

Yes, occasionally some guy gets all pissed off and grabs his gun and does something he couldn't do if he didn't have one in the first place. But, look at it this way, how many people who are otherwise law abiding citizens get stressed out or depressed and get into a car after getting loaded and kill a whole family? Many more times than the gun scenario. With the drinking scenario we are talking how many per minute or hour instead of how many per year...
