No, jet lag comes from flying east. Flying west means that you go to sleep at 9 because your body thinks its midnight. Many people will have less problems just staying up later from flying west than flying east. Flying east means that you go to sleep at 3am because your body thinks it's midnight. It's harder to convince yourself to go to sleep earlier.
It helps to wear sunglasses until it's the wakeup time in the time zone you're traveling to, so your body doesn't try to wake up before then. Eat during the local hours, not your own...
Or you can try melatonin; they're basically natural sleeping pills. You're supposed to take them a few hours before you want to go to sleep
