Fact is, the US government doesn't care for companies that make alternatives to the USD available to the masses. Especially when the currency is backed by actual physical materials of value when the USD is pretty much just funny money these days. The makers of the Liberty Dollar have also found this out the hard way.

You deposit $x into your local checking account and that same amount into eGold. Come back in 20 years and which one has more value then? Systems like eGold seem far more logical than the USD, and for that reason the US Government nips these companies in the bud before they can catch on and turn into a widespread USD alternative.
