Quite true. I re-read 1984 last week... the last time I read it was about 15 years ago. It scared the fuck out of me last week... much more than it did when I read it those many years ago. Why? With recent events, it seemed to be completely non-fiction. War = Peace. Newspeak. We don't torture prisoners, we torment them.
