why is that ? the guy was obviously nuts. he wasn't thinking about consequences , thus killing him wouldn't be a deterrent to others in the same situation.
If you were to give the death penalty to someone , might as well be as a deterrent instead of just to get even.
like say someone who comitted an illegal act then ran over someone and killed them . like maybe a drunk driver. This would make lots of people think twice.
