Yes that's exactly what I'm saying! I'll look out for myself, everyone else look out for themselves.
I'm sure I'd be thankful for anyone who saved me from a fire or anything like that, and I'm not saying I wouldn't be, but I wouldn't expect it from anyone, and I would never hold it against someone for NOT rushing into the burning house (if I happened to survive).
Leave the helping to the helpers (police, firefighters, etc)
