If you were to give the death penalty to someone , might as well be as a deterrent instead of just to get even. 
like say someone who comitted an illegal act then ran over someone and killed them . like maybe a drunk driver. This would make lots of people think twice. |
i was gonna say the same til i remembered jeff dahmer was deemed competent to stand trial...but yeah such an irattional incident pretty much does guarntee he was/is insane...but you can be insane and still know what you are doing is wrong and be sentenced to death ie dahmer
