Google is a completely different story. The trade name became a dictionary word, not the other way around.

Years ago I had a domain with "yahoo" in it and one day it was suddenly taken out of my registrars account and the new whois revealed Yahoo now owned it. I didn't care about the domain, but lets see when they take Balasub's domain if he has any money to fight it.
