As it seems something like this happens just about ever show, the smart thing to do is when you get your room, tell them to disable 'charging to the room'. They can do this easily for you. True, it sucks to need to be carrying cash with you at all times, especially in the pool/hot tub (my money and passport are still drying off heh) but you can def avoid situations like this.
