I hate fake nails too and how ubiquitous they are in porn (and I've *never* had fake nails), but did any guy ever tell you he decides what porn to buy based on what current fashion trends are? Anyway, those are here today, gone tomorrow . . . what lasts are fetishes built on familiarity and memories of chicks who've turned them on. Blue collar style and lowbrow concepts of glamour have more widespread and enduring appeal.

As far as why women get fake nails even when they're not in style, it might have less to do with "fashion" and more to do with being an affordable pampering ritual.

And yeah, everything CherryLula already said.

I agree that porn would be a better place, though, without so may long fake nails. They have always made me shudder, especially during "lesbian" fingerbanging scenes.
