It is a good resource because it site references. If you are wrote a thesis or dissertation for any advance or graduate college course then you would be familiar on how wikipedia is cited. Wikipedia tries its best to cite its reference and if it doesn't then it usually states "This article needs additional citations for verification". I usually like citing certain thing on wikipedia then cross references that subject with another site. Although, not perfect it is almost the same as reading two books on the same subject and crossing referencing it with another.
