I think she will stick around unless the polls crash and burn for McCain. Like you said she has taken a lot of little hits, but if she quits it just gives the democrats firepower. They will lay into McCain and ask, "if he can't even pick a good VP candidate how can he run the country?" She could bail if things start looking bad for them and if she does I would assume she would do it as, "My daughter is having trouble with her pregnancy and my role is mother first." To make it look like she is leaving for a good reason.

If she leaves while the polls are up it will not hurt him as bad, but if she waits until the polls are down it will make McCain look really desperate and it would probably finish him off. He almost has to stay with her no matter what.
