I don't think anyone would blame her for quitting to take care of her daugher and newborn son. I don't think I'd put my kids through something like that. If she goes out, I would imagine she would blame it on the media by saying that their pressure on her daughter was harsh and she needed to protect her. It would actually probably endear her to most parents and gain sympathy for the party. Dropping out could actually be spun in a great way (if he were to pick a big name alternative like Thompson).
I still don't think the teen pregnancy story is going to hurt the most. I think the trooper story could be the big one. She is refusing to hand over the e-mails and if it turns out those e-mails are bad, it could be a real dealbreaker. Her whole appeal is that she is an outsider, and if the scandal puts her in a bad light, it may make her look like every other dirty politician abusing their power.
I still think it's a week or two away (unless something huge breaks), but I think it's all about how deep the trooper thing is and how the people react to the pregnancy.
