On August 19th I went to the bank machine to withdraw $300. The bank machine was out of money and spit out a receipt showing that no funds were dispensed. I went home and much to my surprise, epass had the $300 as pending. I thought it would disappear by morning.
When it went from pending to cleared, I called epass and spent about 3 hours on the phone with various people all of whom did not have the slightest clue what I was talking about. They finally told me to send in all kinds of information such as photo ID, address verification etc. as well as screencaps of what I was talking about and the receipt from the banking machine which I did.
Epassporte sent me a nice letter telling me it would be 30 days before they could release my money.
Two days later 2 items showed up from that same banking machine backdated to Aug 19th. It was a debit of $300 and a credit of $300. In my mind the banking machine was trying to "clear" the debit of $300 but epassporte messed things up. I called them, I wrote to Michael...end result..they said they would charge back and instead of waiting until Sept 19th I now had to wait until Oct 05. I was not happy, but what can you do.
Today a sponsor payment was due in for almost $300 and I went to epass to see if it had arrived. Much to my surprise, it did arrive, but I had a NEGATIVE balance. As we all know, epassporte does not let you go in the negative. How could this happen. So I scroll down back to August 19th and low and behold there is ANOTHER transaction from the banking machine there. They have removed $306.09 and backdated it to August 19th.
I think we all know how banking machines work and I think we can all agree on the fact that banking machines (at least those in canada or any other place I have visited) do not dispense coins....so that number is odd.
So I screen cap everything again, send it off to the dispute department and write Michael a nice long email telling him it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to remove $306.09 from a banking machine and how in the hell is something from August 19th just showing up on Sept 02?
I get this response:
Hi
The first 2 transactions cancel out the new transaction appeared because we had started the charge back process for the first charge where you didn't get any more.
You are still out $300 but the chargeback process is still going on but the money will not be returned until the 5th of October.
Michael
First of all, what he wrote makes no sense. Second of all, for that date there is FOUR transactions.
-$300
-$300
+$300
-$306.09
Now by my accounts, if you look above, that means there were $906.09 in debits and $300 in credits leaving me with charges of $606.09. So from his email it appears THEY added the $306.09 because they are charging back? But if they charge back $300 and charge me $306.09 for it...why the fuck bother?
Epassporte, is handy, it is something this industry needs....but is there at least ONE person over there that can understand English, have a basic knowledge of math AND understand at least how banks/banking machines work?
What is so clear to me seems to be rocket science to everyone at epass
/end rant
