DMCA notices DO go out sometimes, but more often than not, it's not needed.

Usually the shortest and most direct path is the correct one.

Though I'm not sure why I just justified anything to you. I'm pretty sure you are not a content producer and really have no real idea of how to deal with such issues. It's not just as easy as sending a DMCA notice.

To go a step further, once you get to know some of the site owners and are cool with them, the tend to keep (I can only speak for myself here) my content off of their site. Not all of them, but a good handful are decent guys who will remove content just by asking.

Its cool that they are cool and all about it... but, why the hell should we have to be asking them to do it in the first place?

Its like someone breaks into your house, steals your TV. You track him down and tell him : Hey you stole my TV! And he returns it to you and promises never to steal your shit again.

Thats fine you say!?!? No, the dude still stole your shit, that makes him a CRIMINAL.

and btw, I know DWB you're not supporting this, I'm making a point, not counter-arguing what you just said.
