So it's been 3 months since I last posted to this message board. The main reason for that.... I gave up.

I was let down... spent months trying to set up a site that would attract some decent traffic, and drive some respectable sales.
Originally I was receiving 1000 - 2000 hits a day... and if i persisted a bit longer I feel this traffic could have built exponentially. I just didn't feel there was enough sales oportunity... it seemed the only sites making the money were sites that pulled in 100,000 - 500,000 hits a day. By chance, I visited my deserted site 3 months later and found everything to be as I left it. My traffic sits right around 150-400 hits a day.

Since I started I have received three checks, two for $75 and one for $54. My first check came from FPCTraffic ($55), which is now dead, the second from Amateur Money ($75), the third from College Fuckfest, last week. The check from College Fuckfest caught me by total surprise, as it was the last sponsor I added to the site, and basically the 75 dollars accumulated since my last efforts on the site 3 months ago(pretty nice I must say). I also advertised for, FreeEzine, Olivers Money, and Swanksoft history killer. Amateur Money closed my account right around the same time I was due for my second check (I unknowingly broke a rule..I'm not angry Hoax). FreeEzine, went completely under, while Oliver's Money and Swanksoft have not brought in any sales.

This is why I gave up, and now, sparked by a surprise check and a renewed interest , on a revisit to the board I notice there is much more pessimism littered about. I remember 5-6 months ago, if someone asked "is there money in the online adult entertainment business?" people would always be optmistic and give some good tips for success. Now it seems everyone is giving up, saying "the boat has passed".

My question, did the train truly pass?

Or is there still oportunity, but only to the certain few who are willing to dedicate themselves to the industry. Or is there simply too much free content available through the likes of Kazaa, Free sites, TGP's etc.

What are your thoughts, and are there any of you who can honestly say they are happy with the income compared to the work put in?
