Thank you Alton Brown. My fiance wouldn't let me get the stuff to make it yesterday. Said it would take up unnecessary room in the kitchen and fridge.

I like adding some cinnamon & nutmeg as a spice and I also feel that the dipping batter should get an splash or two of fresh OJ (it will not curdle). Also think you can not really over soak good thick stale bread, let it take as much as it can hold. If people are real lazy or by preference you can skip baking and fry it in a non stick pan over medium heat, flipping once.
My wife really likes making it from left over raisin or other flavored breads.
