I've never found him very funny. He always comes off as too much of a wannabe uber intellectual. As for his political affiliation he just seems like another phoney turncoat not unlike and no more convincing than O'Reilly who is now an independent after being a full fledged neocon for years. Everybody wants to be a contrarian nowadays.
