Sorry to hear that.
Burns are bad, very damn bad. Rather know someone fell off a cliff or got hit by a vehicle and was in critical instead of being burnt and even in stable condition. Figured this out very quickly after doing a period of time in a burn center where I was just being kept for some other surgery.
I hope they have him in a burn center by now or can transfer him to one asap. Helps a great deal to get burn victims into a sterile environment as quickly as possible.
