Never had a problem with it.
Obligatory insurance, everything gets covered, you only pay a symbolic fee for every visit at the doctor and for every day in hospital, yet that's fixed and really symbolic.
I got involved in like two huge board discussions about this already in the past and don't think I have time nor energy to get into this again.
In a very crude version the main reason why US doesn't have this and the insurance companies continue to screw patients is money, it's not that a restructuralisation would be unaffordable even with nowadays tax structure.
Of course there is no easy / fast or one touch magical solution, yet the current model is say very, very unstandard and over the top compared to the rest of the nowadays civilised world.
Note: Socialised medicine is a term that was in particular invented and is used in US only, it's simply called a "national healthcare system" or so in other countries and it's percepted as the basic right of a citizen.
