Yeah many neo-cons believe that. It doesn't matter if I have nothing to hide it's not any of the governments damned business. what these neo-cons don't get is maybe one day what they think is "nothing" may be "something" to the government one day. Do they think only republicans will be President forever? I sure as hell know that Sean Hannity would get very pissed if he knew that his phone calls were being monitored by the Obama administration even though he has nothing to hide. Of course he's a hypocrite who would do the world a favor if he asserted his 2nd Amendments rights by inserting a gun into his mouth and pulling the trigger.
