It's on the list as one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I had mine done in Bellevue Wa. and cannot say I have a single compaint. All the stuff they said might happen - didn't. I had terrible vision... could not recognize friends and family four feet away if I wasn't wearing glasses or lenses, actually legally blind. They told me that they would correct but don't expect not to still have to wear some prescription. That was the only part they got wrong. I came away with better than 20/20.
When the doctor was about to do the surgery, which took all of 20 seconds per eyeball, he asked "May I say a prayer before we start?" I looked up at him with the last of my crappy vision and said "As long as you don't kill a chicken and pour blood on me then I think I'll be fine."
When I walked out of the operation, through the waiting room with my eyes a bit bleary but able to see (a miracle!) there was a stack of people all in line for their surgery and they all looked at me plaintively seeking some sort of confidence that it would be ok. I pawed my face, wasn't hard to look like I was crying since the eye drops were dripping down, I screamed, "I can't see! I can't see!" They all stared at me which btw I could see now without my contacts and I said "Just kidding!"
The world looks a whole lot better from there on.
My brother had his done years before me too and his are fine too.
