Because Palin has a special needs child. Yet he kept mentioning autism when talking about her experience with a special needs child. Her experience is with a child with Downs, as that is what her son was born with, not autism. Face it, McCain knows less about his running mate than the general public does, or his dementia is kicking in hard.
