If Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama based on race, then why wouldn't he have done this months ago? Why now? Also, there are many other prominent Republicans who are now endorsing Obama. Colin Powell is not alone. There is Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of former Republican President Dwight Eisenhower and a lifelong Republican herself, who is now supporting Barack. Then you have Scott McClellan, a former press secretary for G.W. Bush, who just announced yesterday that he too is now endorsing Barack. There are many more prominent Republicans who have been repelled by John McCain's negative campaign and his poor judgment on choosing Sarah Palin as his V.P. It is a "rejection" of the Republican Party.
