I don't see this is a huge deal. It's only a dozen people and they were told they couldn't vote, so they didn't. They requested their ballots pulled. Obviously the McCain campaign workers were there just long enough to be counted beyond the temporary residence limit and will probably leave Ohio too once the election is over.
I do wish they would get a handle on the voting problems and figure out a way to correct them so that every vote counts and is legitimate. It shouldn't be able to be gamed by electoral college in swing states. You could just convince 1,000 or more California residents to move to Ohio for 6 months then during a general election year, whatever you need to swing those electoral votes.
Another issue is the ballots themselves, voting machines, etc.. There's always something going on with both sides. Sometimes one side is obviously better at it than the other. ie Bush 2000, Katherine Harris and the Supreme Court.
