it's done on lots of solo girl sites - it doesn't work, geo-IP is at best 75% accurate, but if it makes the model feel better there's nothing wrong with it. it's just unfortunate in this case it's a huge state like NY/NJ rather than an Iowa or South Carolina.
i would not do it for a girl from a large state - if i did i'd let affiliates know.
