he wasnt even the best player, he was dire in the group stages and they only got threw because they won their last game (which he didnt play). He played okay against spain and brilliantly against brazil. I think maniche, maxi rodriguez, canavarro, gattuso, and others were all better and way more consistant.

Wrong. Almost all the voting was done during half time and the BBC's commentator noted on their site that if they had been able to change their vote after the game, most would probably have done so.
