Yep, that's exactly what I use and have A LOT of sites ranked on top of the SERPS for high ranking keywords. Give me a long tailed keyword and I guarantee you that I can have it on top of Google in less than a week. And that's without using blackhat methods. With blackhat I can get it there in less than 48 hours but it wouldn't stay up there long. To me optimization is like sex; the longer it lasts the better it feels.
