"War on terror"

Do you think that by changing the "war on terror" metaphor to something a bit more precise like something along the lines of disease / outbreak containment the mindset of the public would change?

There is no way to "win" in this war against extremism, there can't be a finish line. However, local law enforcement & government working together should have a more precise & realistic focus of containing and preventing this mind state from spreading.

Then working from the outside IN to assist diseased territories (if they can be saved).

Right now political correctness is getting in the way. The other day I saw a video where in NY a group of people using their right to "free speech" were stepping on the flag & completely vocalizing their hatred of America while IN America! How is this allowed? Why? You can't say you're going to shoot the president but you can spew that shit & be protected? It should be considered treason right off the bat & dealt with.

Throwing that group in jail immediately would offend how many people? Not me.

Anyway, do you think that if something as simple as the current metaphor of the "war on terror" being changed that the public would have different expectations of the current situation?
