"i know they're out to get me" and "questioning things" are not exactly the same.

"questioning things" means you haven't reached a conclusion and you are open to whatever answers reveal themselves.
"questioning things" doesn't mean babbling on and on and on and on about how the government is out to get you and then rationalizing it by saying "i'm just questioning things" and "looking at the facts" and "i have an open mind"
there is quite a large crowd of people here who have long sense arrived at a conclusion, seek out and use whatever evidence, no matter how silly or bizarre or improbable or just plain wrong it may be to support their case under the guise of "questioning things" and "just looking at the facts"
(this isn't directed at you... it's just weird that this place at times, seems to have become Conspiracy Central)
