Well, you said it. If the regulated are not responding to the regulators, you gonna end up like DDR in many ways.
Its amazing that politicians, which "represent" people in free democratic countries, are free to do whatever they want "in the name of this and that...". However, even if the intentions might be good, like protecting its own people, I think these kind of desperate local initiatives express the frustration - and lack of international cooperation in fighting serious crime. And if something is legal in some other countries, they
should target the local individuals involved - not all people; Thats like blocking a highway for everyone, because some few are driving too fast...
