The negatives affect porn producers and consumers.
Producers:
-Obscenity laws do not specifically define "obscenity". It is impossible to know whether or not your content will constitute obscenity in the future. And since this law applies as based on local community standards, what may be acceptable in one community may be unacceptable in another.
With internet porn, if you run your site from New York, and someone acceses your site in Texas, you can face criminal and civil liability in Texas even if you haven't set foot there. You can be exposed to lawsuits in states where you do not do business. And if a small redneck community finds your content to be offensive, you can be prosecuted for obscenity based on their standards.
Consumers
-Easy access to children. Website age verification systems are incapable of distinguishing between children and adults. Moreover, pornography is readily available for free via Tube sites and P2P.
-Instant access to nearly infinite quantities. You can't watch all of the porn in the world if you tried. There are millions of videos and they are all available. It is easy to kill a whole day watching porn. And you may spend a lot of money if you don't pirate the porn. And the wasted time/money leads to you neglecting your job, school, health, and/or family.
-Erosion of family values. It is immoral.
-Unrealistic portrayl of sex and depections of the human body. This makes you unsatisfied with your own sex life and attributes of your partner's body.
Other
-Human sex trafficking no longer requires travel, just a webcam.
-Easy to distribut child pornography which increases child abuse and exploitation
