Maybe our news resource (dutch tv) was wrong but this is how they explained it:
The guy is in the regular studio and the lady is in another studio in front of a green wall(s). They play the 2 frames as layers on eachother and thats what you see on tv. So the guy is not seeing her at all. Now the camera work is mirrored in both studios to make it look even more real.
