Yeah, it is great for that. I have it connected through Bluetooth to my stationary computer, it updates Outlook contacts, calendar etc. I use it to check mail regularly when not at home or the office.
I also have ICQ on it, works pretty good.
Camera is pretty cool too, when picking up skanks in clubs and taking them home
