I spoke at length with one of the "Big 3" last night. According to them, they and another one of the top agents want nothing to do with this whole thing. That the agent that pulled this meeting together is in panic mode and they went along to appease and to just see what was up. But according to them, they are out for themselves, this is why they all have seperate agencies in the first place, for their own independence and idealistic gain. So basically they could care less and have more of a "oh, your drowning? sorry, sucks for you" attitude towards the agent that wants this organization, and any other agency out there.
Now i don't know if that was the same attitude that your source gave you, but common sense, an understanding what is the ultimate goal of this biz, this discussion, and greed and self gain, says that this coalition will never come together. If it does, it will either won't last or be taken seriously. Its simple, there will always be agents who will want our money.
Example, if Jimmy Lifestyles was caught "breaking the rules" by Alisttalent, and they reported it to the coalition, does anyone really think the other agencies would call and cancel their bookings with me that they had set? That i, or any other producer, would be completely blacklisted by all other agencies cuz of incidents with others? That type9 would call me and say, "Hey Jimmy, i know we have 10 plus bookings with you this month, at least 3-4 a week, but you booked Brianna Beach (whom you've known long before she was with AList), around their back, so we are gonna have to go ahead and cancel all our bookings with you from now on because of the "coalition" we have made with the other agencies", lol. Come on, not gonna happen. So really, no worries, business as usual.
