And, I think that you're on the right track... that's what I've been leaning towards (and what I'm doing now). The tough part is that unless you get at least 75% of surfers returning, ever a 125% link trade still results in a net loss, so if you go this way, you have to have a quality site. As far as thinning out, I think that it's happening already. The get rich quick kids are quickly dropping out since they spend a lot of money, hoping for a 300% return on their money, and of course, they don't get it. But long term is where the payout is. The "key" to what I'm saying is that you said "long term".
The PK's etc. success had a bit to do with timing - being there "then". But it can still be done, it's just going to take longer than it did in the late 90's. I think "sticking to" doing things right is one thing those people will tell you has kept them on top.
And you're right - what a fucked up thread for this to be in....
